Hello friends!
Today I am sharing a tag tutorial using this vintage card from my collection.
Here is a look at the finished tag.
First start by printing and cutting out the vintage image.
Next, I took a standard sized mailing tag which measures 3 x 6 and inked the tag. I am using my favorite ink! It's called Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I am also using a blending tool which has a piece of foam to blend the brown ink on my tag.
Then I cut a piece of paper measuring 2 1/2 x 4 3/4. This paper is from a wonderful new line called Delovely by Cosmo Cricket. You can find the paper here on Amazon.
I then roughed up the edges of the paper, which can be achieved by taking an opened pair of scissors and running the blade across the page. I then glued the paper to the center of the tag and added glitter glue to the edges.
Next, I cut a piece of paper 2 x 4 and crinkled it up. I roughed up the edges and inked it with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The paper I am using here is from the Nerdy Bird line by Sassafras. I love this paper!
I then glued this paper to the center of the tag, folding the top right corner. I added a green stem and flower cut from the Delovely line and glued it to the bottom left corner of the tag.
Take your vintage girl image and glue her to the tag. I glued her using foam dots to make her stand out.
I also added a metal butterfly to the top right corner.
Now add a ribbon to your tag and it's done!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
Have a crafty day, Lindsey

I have a question!
ReplyDeleteWhen using that ink, do you water it down? I have the same ink and found that it goes on way too dark unless I blot it with water. I don't have the foam tool though, maybe that's the problem?
ps Gorgeous tag!
Jill
Cute tag Lindsey! I've been meaning to get some of that ink, but frankly it scares me. I guess it's just like anything else, and I would need to practice to make it look perfect. Thanks for the great tutorial!
ReplyDeleteEverything you make is just so sweet, Lindsey! I love that colorful music paper! ♥

I have been using that Distress Ink and it sure is easier to stain your tags isn't it?
