Wouldn't you like to be Barbie for Halloween? I would if I had the body for this dress! This costume is of the popular vintage dress, "Solo in the Spotlight". I love how this costume comes with a wrist band like the old Barbies had!
Of course if you were going to be Barbie, then your husband would have to be Ken! This Ken looks more like he is from the seventies to me, with his hairstyle. He has cool armband, too!
This is Barbie, Ken and Skipper's first Masquerade party costumes. From 1963, Barbie's costume is called, "Masquerade" #944.
When I think of Halloween I can't help but think about my favorite old television shows like Bewitched. Mattel created a beautiful doll that I think really captures Elizabeth Montgomery's beauty!
I also love The Munsters! I received this wonderful set for Christmas one year and it is one of my favorite Barbies! I love how beautiful they made Lily!
The Addams Family was never a show I ever saw on tv when I was younger so I can't say whether I like them or not. From the little I have seen they are fairly cute! Mattel created a gift set for this duo and I must say that they did a really nice job and I hope to add this set to my collection some day.
No offense intended, so here goes with a macabre (call it Halloweenie spooky!) thought: When Patty Duke's divorce from John Astin was proceeding less than amicably, the "Gomez" Ken might have come in handy for voodoo spells! (Sorry! LOL!)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love the little bees' feet!
P.P.S. Have a happy trick-or-treat!
The Munster's Barbies!! I love them! I grew up on The Munster's (re-runs, of course). And yes, if I could look that good in a Barbie dress, I would definitely love to be Barbie for Halloween. :) Not sure I could talk my husband into being Ken, though...
ReplyDeleteSo are you going to be Barbie for Halloween? I love the Solo in the Spotlight dress!
ReplyDeleteI think that I already told you once or twice, but I am not sure, I have a Barbie collection too. I would love to see my husband with the Ken hairdo and the wrist tag! Love those costumes, though I think the pink handkerchief that goes with 'Solo in the spotlight' should be something llke a scarf, way bigger than this. Thanks for sharing. I love to wake up with Barbie!
ReplyDeleteHa! I didnt know they had the addams family too.Wow that show was funny.Love the new Halloween barbie for this year.
ReplyDeleteEverytime I see this post about barbies, I want to go and bring out all of my girls barbies, lol.maybe I will do a blog about them one day.

Oh my goodness that Ken outfit is so funny! I don't think my hubby would go for it but I would love to wear the Barbie one! Well, if I looked as good as she does in it!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there is a Munster's Barbie...I loved that show!
~Happy Halloween~
Super Spooky cute.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone with your wealth of information on Miss Barbie and her friends!!!
Melinda
Hi Girls! I really giggled when I pictured my husband in that Ken costume! I loved those Munster dolls! I still love watching that show too! Thanks for the good wishes and your sweet compliment too! Sending a hug, Paulette ;)
ReplyDeleteMy Barbie had that little black and yellow costume! I'm glad I didn't have a Ken and a clown suit. I can go in "real" haunted houses all day long, never get scared - just fascinated. But keep clowns away from me - they totally creep me out!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween to y'all too!
Great Barbie Halloween Information! She looks very 21st Century in her 2009 outfit, but I really like the 60's and 70's stuff....Ken's cool!
ReplyDeleteHappy Barbie Halloween!
Sue

Oooh I LOVE all those Barbies... I have my very first Barbie, the real Barbie #1 from 1959! In the original box with tags and everything! She is worth a MINT now but I would never part with her... Santa brought her to me when I was 10 years old! Bisous... Julie Marie
