We have a tree blooming with these lovely flowers in our back yard and I think the flowers are such a beautiful shade of pink that I wanted to show them to you today! I am thinking they are Barbie pink!!!!
This is one of my favorite dolls. I like to just move her around throughout my display pieces and dream that she was a number 1 doll instead of a reproduction! She was created for Barbie's 35th Anniversary.
Here was one of my neat flea market finds! A Barbie watch. This watch was made in 1995 by HOPE Industries.
It is still sealed in it's original plastic case.
I now have two Barbie watches. Just one more and I will have a collection!!!
On these hot Summer days I wish I could be some place cool like Sun Valley Barbie skiing in the mountains with all her friends!
This paper doll set is from 1974. It comes with four dolls and lots of clothes mostly jumpsuits!
Enjoy the rest of your week, Lindsey
Hi Lindsey! I think that flower is called a rose of sharon, I have some of those in my yard too, they are really pretty...You have such a huge barbie collection! I love the watch, and it's still in the case too, very neat. I also remember playing with barbie paper dolls, what memories!! I won't be able to do barbie Wednesday this week I had to much going on and forgot to get batteries for my camera so I'm hoping to get them tomorrow :( But I'll be back next week... Happy Barbie Wednesday!! hugs, Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI have a Rose of Sharon too! I need to see if mine is blooming yet... it is getting kind of choked out by these huuuuuge dappled willows :(
ReplyDeleteI remember one of my best Christmases was when I got a Barbie suitcase FULL OF BARBIE CLOTHES. Some were "store-bought" but many were made by my mom. I was in complete heaven. I toted that pink case around everywhere for weeks, dressing my pretty barbies. There were even little shoes and underpants.
It was awesome :)
Love the vintage style Barbie and the Barbie paper dolls! YAY! :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Lindsey! ♥ Y'alls blooming schedule is ahead of ours!
ReplyDeleteThe Sun Valley Barbie reminds me to ask you about a brunette skiing Barbie I remember from about 68-69 I was given 2 for Christmas one year by both grandmothers. Do you know her or have you heard of her?
Hope you have a great day at work! ♥
I have no doubt that you will find a 3rd Barbie watch very soon to have a collection!!

I had that doll in blond when I was a kid...I would like to get the anniversary edition! Love the watch! It's great!
ReplyDeleteHi Lindsey

I always enjoy your posts so much -I secretly love Barbie Things and your collection is incrediable. My favorite this week is the paper dolls. Have a great holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour flower is the Rose of Sharon, also called "althea". It is beautiful and so pretty Barbie "pink". The Rose of Sharon is mentioned in the Bible in the Song of Solomon.I have that same Barbie repro, except mine has blonde hair. When I bought her, the dark haired one was higher in price.I bought an Avon Barbie watch about 10 or so years ago and cannot find it. I don't usually lose things, so I don't know what happened to it. It hasn't been removed from the box either. Loved your post - thanks for sharing! Sarita
ReplyDeleteHi Lindsey,I always love coming for your Barbie Wednesday. I am looking for a vintage Barbie to add to my doll collection. I mostly have Raggedy Anns and baby dolls but you are spiking my interest in Barbies. I saw one recently at Walmart that's a reproduction from my era
ReplyDeletelate 1960's or early 1970's. It's a little more than I can afford but I am waiting to see if it may go on clearance. I regonized your flower right away as a "Rose of Sharon". Such a pretty flower indeed!
Blessings,Shelley
Hi Twyla. I wanted to come by and say thank you for leaving a lovely comment about my dog Harley. Your words were really appreciated.

My Desert Cottage
Rose of Sharon has always been a favorite. I have one in my back yard that I planted when we bought our home 20 years ago. I planted for my sister, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteThe Barbie paper dolls bring back so many memories. I loved to play with them. What a great find!
Have a wonderful 4th of July!

I love retro Barbies, they are a blast to paint!
ReplyDeleteRetro Barbies are the best! I love vintage finds (flea markets, thrift stores, garage sales, you name it!). Thanks for your comments to my blog. I'm enjoying yours, too! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Twyla and Lindsey!! Thank you for stopping by my blog...you have a safe and wonderful 4th of july as well! big hugs, Jennifer : )
ReplyDeleteThat vintage-style Barbie is just gorgeous! I want her bathing costume :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought of you, Lindsey while my daughter and I were shopping. She was picking out a new Barbie outfit and I saw all of the vintage Barbie stuff they are now selling. I even had to open a vintage Barbie case that -- to my utter amazement -- smelled just like the one I had as a girl.
ReplyDeleteIt's the simple things, isn't it! *grin*
Thank you for coming by for a visit. And thanks for the lovely comments. How great to have a mother/daughter blog and craft business. Enjoyed the Barbie collections.
