It was one year ago today that I began my Twyla on Tuesday posts. Can't believe time flies so quickly. I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you and you have enriched my life more than I can say.


I truly appreciate everyone who reads our blog and all those who leave us such sweet and thoughtful comments.


I decided to put together a little give away to show my appreciation. Some of my hand knitted dishcloths, a vintage tea towel, a Fire King creamer, a set of spreaders, one of my crochet mushrooms and a few other items that you see in this picture.



I will also add another gift so that you can have a surprise!



I have changed up my usual pastel color scheme for these more dramatic tones. Do you like them? Pastels are still my favorite, but it was fun working with the darker colors for a change. Just leave a comment on this post to be entered in the give away and I will announce the winner next Tuesday.

I am continuing my virtual walk and I have now gone 53 1/2 miles! It is getting easier for me to walk and I am enjoying it much more also. I started out walking half an hour a day and now I walk 1 hour a day! Sunday I walked for 2! I feel that I am getting stronger and have picked up my pace. I just know that exercise is so important and I must do this for my health.

I thought you might enjoy seeing my progress. Here I am starting out at 1 and have walked to Collins, Mo at 2. I'll have to resist the urge to stop at Smith's to eat one of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches in the world! Besides, it wouldn't hurt to drop a few pounds along the way also!

    Congrats on your anniversary!! I for one am glad I started blogging and that I met you and lindsey. You are both so sweet and I love reading your blogs. I do enjoy Barbie wednesday's too......I like pastels and bright colors so I can't really choose, it's too hard......I will say, I love your mushrooms!!!! I have never seen anything like that before.     Such a heartfelt post... I love visiting you very much and love reading your posts.

    I've just started a walking campaign for myself! I now come into work armed with my flats so that I can walk home from the station of an evening rather than call my mum to collect me! I've only been at it a week and last night the walk up the hill felt that bit easier.

    Hi Twyla! I have enjoyed your "Twyla on Tuesdays" I never told you this, but I had a friend in high school named Twyla. It's such an unusual name. I like it.

    That is lovely giveaway you have put together!! Love it! Those spreaders are darling and that little spoon with the teacup is ADORABLE!

    I've enjoyed reading about you and Lindsey - I still have my Barbies in storage and hope this summer to take them out and see my old friends! I love the brights - red has always been my favorite! But, I do admit to loving the 30's fabrics! Thanks for sharing tidbits of your lives with us!

    Congrats on your blogging anniversary! I love and collect Barbie and enjoy very much your sharing yours. I even have a few Barbie books found at flea markets. Your giveaway looks wonderful! I have the matching Fiesta ware kitchen magnets and miniatures (actually they are tablecloth holders but I display them on my kitchen shelf with my real size Fiesta). Well, everything in the photo would fit right into my kitchen. :). Now if I had a blog I could put up my pics of the diorama I once made that made it into the old Barbie magazine.
