First off we want to wish all Mothers a Happy Mother's Day!!!! I hope you're all having a wonderful day!
I have been very busy and very HAPPY these past couple of weeks! Why you ask? My new JOB!!!! :)
As many of you have already read, I now work at The Scrap Nook in Springfield, MO. I am so in my element there! I love getting to stock paper and rearranging displays and of course having a discount! Hehe!
But the best part is getting to meet such awesome people!
I was in the store on my day off and as I was standing in line another customer came in and was walking around shopping. One of my co-workers went over to her to ask her if she needed any help. I wasn't paying any attention to them until I heard the customer say, " Twyla and Lindsey". I perked up and they were pointing at me and I walked over to this woman and I said that I was Lindsey. She looked at me and said, "I LOVE YOUR BLOG!" She was so sweet! I had such a great time talking to her! She lives about an hour and a half away so when she came to visit her Son, she wanted to find The Scrap Nook and come see me!
What luck that I would just happen to be in the store in the same 5 minute time span that she came!
I recently bought myself a Cricut Expression cutting machine. It is the ultimate tool for a scrapbooker! I have wanted one for a long time now and I decided that having a job at a Scrapbook store was a good enough excuse to finally get one! It is really awesome! I feel like there is a whole new world of crafting open to me now with having this!
Here is a layout that I created using my Cricut. The words and intricately cut swirls were created with the Cricut.
Lindsey, it must be exciting to meet one of your fans! I only recently started commenting on your blog, but I've been following your excitement over your new job. You're so lucky to have a job you love!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day Twyla! Hope you get to do something fun! Maybe a flea market, or garage sale?!

Good morning, Lindsey! ♥
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for another "new job" update! I'd have loved to have heard what thoughts raced through your mind when you heard "Twyla and Lindsey" spoken by that customer! Ha-ha! If I ran into another blogger in a store, I'd probably turn red and be struck dumb- either that or talk a mile a minute! Ya never know with me! Depends on what moooood I'm in.
So that circut must be the same thing as a cuttlebug? Cool stuff and great lay outs, Lindsey!
I can't wait to show you the sweet bedspread I found at the antique mall last week!
Have fun being good to your mom today! I'm so glad you have each other. ♥
Scrapbook heaven! I would spend my entire paycheck there!
ReplyDeleteYour layouts are stunning and boy, I'd give my left arm for one of those Cricuts!
Enjoy this weekend!
Happy Mother's Day to you, too. Your new job sounds wonderful !!! Hope you have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteHi guys! And happy Mother's Day, Twyla! Lindsey - I think I could seriously get into scrapbooking if I thought I could make something as sweet and adorable as that red layout you showed us - LOVE it! I think it's so cool that you met the gals who came to see if you would be working at the store. I went specifically to Monticello Antique Marketplace in Portland two years ago to see Alicia Paulson's (Posie Gets Cozy) booth there - so I can totally relate to them.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are liking your new job Lindsey. And Happy Mother's Day to you Twyla, I hope you are getting spoiled rotten today, you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kathy
What a fab machine!
