Tag Tutorial Time!

Hello friends!

I have a quick and easy tag tutorial to share with you today!

Start by saving and printing this vintage pattern.

Cut out the littlest girl and cut out your tag shape.

To give the tag a nice aged, vintage look, I inked it with Vintage Photo Distress ink, blending the ink across the surface using a blending applicator.

I then added stamped measuring strips across the top and bottom. I used the Hero Arts Sew Stylish stamp set. I used a lovely grey ink by Ranger for The Jenni Bowlin line. The inkpads are made much like the Distress Inks and I love the range of vintage colors.

 You could also use ribbon for this.

Then I took a paper scrap cut to fit in the center of my tag and ripped the edges to give it a rough look. I inked it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and bent up the edges.

*Note all paper used on this tag are by Graphic 45.

I added a little paper flower in the bottom corner and used a fun button shaped brad by Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.

I decided to give my tag a more elegant look with some sparkle, so I took a jar of Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls powder which can be found at Michaels and most other Scrapbook stores and sprinkled a little on the tag. Then I spread it across the paper with a brush. Then to set the powder I lightly spritzed the tag with water and dried it with a heat gun.

See how it shimmers? No glue was needed to spread the powder on.

I then added a small strip of paper to the tag and a photo corner.

Next, I took a piece of corrugated cardboard and cut a small rectangle to fit the tag.

I also took a white gel pen and add faux stitch lines around the edge of my paper.

I then added a ribbon bow at the top and pearl pin by Maya Road behind the flower.

To finish add the vintage image!



Tags like this are wonderful to give with gifts or as party favors.

Hello friends!

One of the things so great about the fall is

the craft festivals around the small towns.

This was one such beautiful weekend to attend one!  The pretty white

house above was full of hand made quilts.  I entered a raffle to win one!

Ever since we discovered the quaint little town of

Arrow Rock, Missouri we have been smitten!

The beautiful old homes built in the 1800's still so

well taken care of.  The whole town is neat as a pin!

There were many craft booths set up along the Main street.

We saw lace making, spinning and rug hooking just to name

a few.

The town of Arrow Rock is historic in that it was along

the Missouri river and part of the Lewis and Clark expedition

and the Santa Fe trail.

It also boasts the oldest tavern west of the Mississippi

built in 1834.

The antique shops were decked out for the holidays.

We got to tour this house!

Originally built in 1838, the second floor was added

in 1875 making it more Victorian in appearance.

The lady of the house used to hand out milk and cookies to

the neighborhood children.

We visit here often just because we love the peaceful

atmosphere, but this was definitely a fun day bustling with

activity!  Normally the streets are not this crowded.  Notice the

rock ditches.

Pink Saturday

This lovely old pottery vase and vintage crocheted potholder.

One of my favorite old prints is called 'Absence Cannot

Hearts Divide' by Gene Pressler.  It's dated 1921.

I love the way she is clutching a letter.

ABC Primer

Hello friends!

Okay, I know you've heard me say it before but this really is my favorite mini album I've ever made!

It was so much fun to put together!

I created this book using Graphic 45's new ABC Primer paper line.

The colors and patterns of this line are so sweet and yummy!

The colors make you dream of cool fall days which are quickly approaching!

This line has so many sweet vintage graphics

 that it was such a joy to work with.

The only downfall to working with Graphic 45 paper is the lack of many embellishments. So I got creative and created paper flowers for many of the pages.

I also used lots of Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks

to add more age to my book. The book measures 6 x 6 and was bound using my handy dandy Cinch book binding machine.



I listed this album here on ebay.

Hello dear friends!

Today I thought I would show you some things

I have painted.

I adore wooden shoe forms and normally would Never

consider painting them as I prefer seeing the pretty wood,

but I happened to find a couple that were not pretty at all!

I picked them up thinking that it would be fun to paint them.

The first one here is painted with Martha Stewart's Lagoon.

Such a pretty color!

I thought cherries would be a pretty decoration.

This next shoe is painted a pretty light pink. I then painted one

of my cottage scenes on it.

I really enjoyed painting these and am looking for more

homely shoe forms!

I have a small collection of oil cans.

I really wanted to add some whimsy to them.

Here is one I have painted, again with cherries!

My latest mixed media painting is this little sailboat.

It's called Merrily Down the Stream.  I painted the clouds and the sky

and the rest is scrapbook paper.

I continue to love this art form.

It makes me happy!
