Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you all our dear friends
a most blessed Thanksgiving Day!

I am humbled at this time, remembering that
because of His Grace, I have everything I need.

Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms." - Psalm 95:2

Starting My Christmas Crafting!

Hello dear friends!

I had so much fun making this album. I love it when this time of year comes around and I can break out all my favorite Christmas supplies.

I shared a post a few days ago, showing you current Christmas scrapbook lines available. This line was in my top 3 favorites!
It's Bundled Up by Crate Paper.

This line has a ton of awesome embellishments that really made this album come together quickly. It has a flair of vintage but would work wonderful with current style as well.

Throughout the album I added gold glitter swirls and poinsettia flowers.

I added lots of dimension to this album with the chipboard, die cut and stitched die cut pieces.

This is my favorite time of year. I enjoy being able to be more whimsy and cute in my crafting. I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at it.

Have a beautiful day, Lindsey

A New Craft!

Hi friends!
For a long time now I have been
fascinated by penny rugs.  I assure
you that the last thing I need is another
craft to involve myself in, but there was
just something about penny rugs that
I wanted to try!

I got online and looked up tutorials.
I was a bit surprised there aren't more, but
I found this one to be of great help.

I am making up the pattern myself
and pretty much making it up as I go,
but it is very satisfying.

The one thing I haven't found is how to
sew the circles together.  I am considering
this first one practice, but, oh, how I am
enjoying working with the yummy soft wool!

"She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands."
- Proverbs 31:13

Have a wonderful day!

Meeting a Friend

It was a special day Saturday when I
got to meet Gayle of 'Garden of Daisies' fame!
Silly me, I had thought we might run out of
things to talk about!  We had a wonderful time
getting acquainted.
We talked non stop for 5 hours!

We had fun looking at the antiques and we
both found some things to bring home to
remember our special day!

She surprised me with this sweet ornament
that she made.  It will always be special to me, Gayle.

She also surprised me with this pretty pink
McCoy planter!  I love it!

I couldn't help but notice a pretty little barn
right on the main street of town!  Gayle and I
both like barns!

I have had an unintentional blog break.
It's just been a very hectic fall.  Several elderly
relatives have been sick and both my kid's birthdays.
I plan to get back to regular blogging.
I've missed you!

things and be in health, just as your soul
prospers.' - 3 John 1:2

 Have a lovely day!

Lindsey's Guide to Christmas 2013 Paper Lines

Hello friends!

I can say, as I work in a scrapbook store, that there are a lot of cute Christmas paper this year! How do you decide which one to create with? Which one you want to craft handmade decorations and presents for loved ones with?
Well I thought I would share with you some of the ones we have around here and show you all the different styles to choose from.

Ok, so here is a good place to start. How about with my favorite.
I actually have picked out 3 that I am going to use this season and all coordinate well with each other. This first one is Silent Night by October Afternoon.
It's vintage, it's retro and it's super cute! But I have to admit, I'm a fan of anything and everything that October Afternoon makes. I love their style.

Here is a close up of a couple of my favorite patterns from this line.
It's a really cute line if you are considering doing a December Daily this year.
Lots of little extra embellishments.

My second favorite - 25th and Pine by Basic Grey.
I am so in love with this line. It's very very retro and so elegant. It just makes me happy to look at it. I also see some pink and red in there. Yay!

A close up of two awesome prints.
I adore the shiny bright, vintage style ornaments!

And to round out my top three is - Bundled Up by Crate Paper
Words just can't describe the level of cuteness in this line.
I've already started working with it and can say it's adorable!
This has also been our best Christmas seller so far, which means I'm not the only one who thinks it's too stinkin cute!
Great for kids or adults. Perfect for mixing Christmas and Winter projects together.

Just look at these adorable snowmen! Makes me so happy!

But really, no matter what your style is, there is a line to fit it.
Whether it's the new trend with lots of gold, Old World, Vintage, Chalkboard or Modern, it's available. Shown here are Bo Bunny's Silver and Gold, Echo Park's Tis The Season, Echo Park Reflection's Christmas, Carta Bella's So This Is Christmas, Pink Paislee's Snow Village, Heidi Swapp's Believe and Bella Blvd's Christmas Countdown.
How does one choose?

If you like ones that feature lot's of snow, the north pole or trees? We have it!
I do, but I really just think I like them all!
These two are Merry Little Christmas by Fancy Pants and We R Memory Keeper's North Pole.

I was not a big fan of the Heidi Swapp line but I did have to pick up this sweet Santa pattern from the line.

Kaisercraft had 4 Christmas lines this year.
Featuring modern, old world and retro themes!

My favorite being this retro themed one featuring this beautiful mint color.

Or even a tropical looking Christmas one like this
Hello December line by Glitz Design.

Or one featuring some non traditional colors
like this one by My Mind's Eye, called Mistletoe Magic.

Or one with glitter papers like this Vintage Christmas line by My Mind's Eye.

If you do Project Life/Pocket scrapbooking, there is also a line for you!
This one is by Simple Stories.

If you like Victorian Style, then I would recommend Graphic 45's Twelve Days of Christmas line. Very lovely!

Or if you are more into a Swedish style,
then Authentique's Tradition would be perfect for you.

If you are embracing the big new trend of Chalkboard, then you might really like Little Yellow Bicycle's Making Merry line.

It's very cute!

Of course we can't forget the ones that are more winter themed,
 like this one by Authentique.

This particular pattern from Authentique's
Glistening line really calls my name!

Although that was quite a few, I still did not get around to every new Christmas line available this year. But I hope if you were wondering about what was out there or what you might like, that this helped a little bit.
You can purchase these lines at scrapbookgeneration.com
Have a wonderful day, Lindsey

Card Crafting

Hello friends!
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I had a great week, doing all my favorite things. Such as antiquing, craft store trips, holiday open houses and creating in my craft room.
I wanted to share a peek with you of the cards I created for my card club this month. Yep, they are Christmas! So everyone who gets the kit has time to not only get the 5 cards put together, but also mailed out to loved ones in time for the holidays (or make more). If you would like more information about joining my monthly kit club, please visit this link at Scrapbook Generation.

So Many Antiques....

Hello dear friends!

This past week was my 25th birthday, so to celebrate we spent my days off traveling to some of our favorite antique shops in Missouri.

We've seen so much cute stuff! We always wish we could just take it all home with us. I took a few photos of booth that really made me happy.

I enjoy looking at everything (of course!) but I am usually pretty focused on hunting for paper ephemera. Such as vintage cards/books and ads. I was also really wanting to find vintage Christmas items. Unfortunately it was a little early for most of them to have all their Christmas stuff put out, but I did manage to find a few sweet pieces which we'll be sharing soon.

I could have stayed in this last booth for hours.
It was small, but packed full of pretty pieces.

Have a lovely day, Lindsey
