Barn Charm

Hi!

This pretty barn sits up on a hillside
above a busy road in Christian County.

It looks like a bright new barn, but I've been
passing by this barn since I was a little girl on
the way to my grandparent's farm.

The barn has been taken well care of and
looks to have a new roof.  The hillside has
eroded over the years.  I can remember times
when it was washed out into the road.

Thanks for stopping by and please

My Obsession Afghan

Hello friends!
I wanted to share with you the afghan that
I finished last night.  It's one I've been working
on for several months.  In my spare time or in
between other projects I'd pick it up and add a
few rows.

Row upon row, color upon color it grew.
It grew and grew!  The thing is actually huge!
I think it would look good folded across the
foot of my bed.

I had such fun playing with the colors.  I would audition
colors and plan a few rows at a time and just when I
thought I couldn't come up with another
colorway, I'd surprise myself!

It was a fun pattern that I learned about here.

I nicknamed it My Obsession afghan.
I feel a little sad that it's finished.  I'm sure some
of you other crocheters understand.
Feeling lost at finishing a piece that was so
enjoyable to work on.

I am already gathering yarn from my stash to see
what I can make next!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Love, Twyla

Barn Charm

This week's barn was built in 1902.
I know this because it is written on the barn!

It's part of Lost Hills farm.  A beautiful old
farm that has now been turned into a park.

There are nice walking trails there now
where we go walk sometimes.

I am always fascinated by the barn
and hope that now that it is a park, they will
preserve the barn and do some renovations
on it.

Barn Charm

Hi!
I have tried for the longest time to get
a picture of this barn.  It sits waaaaaay out
in the middle of a biiiiiig field!  As you drive
along, the ground swells and all you can see is
the top of it.

Sunday, I snapped this picture in the only spot you
can, and zoomed in!
It's a lovely barn that sports a quilt square.

This barn truly is 'outstanding' in it's field!

I am happy to be able to share it with you.
Thanks for stopping by!

Barn Charm

Hello friends!

As we drive along the highways my eyes
are always scanning for barns.

This one was spotted along a highway in mid Missouri.
It was irresistible with it's cheery red roof and spiffy
white paint!

I loved how the picture turned out!

Thanks for dropping in!

Latest Afghan!

Hi!

After finishing the last granny square afghan I
really had a desire to delve right back into
another one!

I forgot how much fun granny squares were!
I had intended to make it all different colors,
but the first two squares were red and pink and
when I saw those two blocks together, I decided
to make the whole thing red and pink!

I love the simple pattern and just let the
colors stand out.  A simple border was
all that was needed.

I used a combination of Red Heart's Love
and Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn.  If you've
used either of these yarns then you know how
soft and snuggly they are.

Hmmm, there's definitely a theme here
with my last two afghans!

Once done, I had to tear myself away from
my favorite color scheme and pull some yarn
in different colors!
Here's a sneak peak at the next afghan I am
working on.  Still in the mood for granny
squares but bigger this time!

To me, creating is like breathing.  Can't live
without it.  It gives me balance and smooths
out life's rough spots.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Barn Charm

Hello!

I've had my eye on this barn for a long time.
I would see it setting off of I-44 as I drove by.

One day, I couldn't stand it anymore.  I wanted
a closer look!  I drove off the closest exit and
found my way to it.

It actually is sitting not far from a small town
in Greene county.  I was pleasantly surprised
by it's great condition and cute shape!

We don't live in the county, but there are some
rural areas not far from us.  The other day as I was
driving toward the highway I passed a field
and this cow was just standing there looking
at me!

I love having my iphone handy all the time
when picture opportunities arise!  I rolled down
the window, slowed down and snapped his
picture.  I just love cows!

Thanks for joining me for Barn Charm.
