Valentine Votive Candy Cup

Hello friends!
Today I want to share with you a quick and easy tutorial for this cute candy cup.

This pretty little treat holder starts with a glass votive
that you could pick up really cheap at a thrift store.

Now take a pink and white pipe cleaner and twine them together.

Now bend the pipe cleaner so that you have the shape of a handle.
Place it on the votive.
Take a pretty piece of dyed seam binding or ribbon and wrap a tight bow around the votive, making sure you are tying the pipe cleaners to the sides.

Now cut the pipe cleaners so that the ends stick out a little beneath the ribbon. Bend the pipe cleaners up, so that they are secure around the ribbon.
Add a flower to the center of the bow and voila! That's it!

Now you can fill it with your favorite candy! I chose Valentine M&M's.

Here is your sweet valentine for the day!

Valentine Tags

Hello friends!
A super sweet valentine to share with you today!

I have been making tags lately that were inspired by Tim Holtz and his inking techniques.
This snowman tag has a cool technique I learned from Tim which was to take a piece of plastic packaging and cut into a tag shape, emboss it with a snowflake embossing folder to create a lovely snowy effect.
So fun!

This cute little cowboy valentine just barely fit on the tag!
 Isn't he sweet?

Both tags are now listed here in our etsy shop!

Valentine Yarn Wreath

Hello friends!
A sweet pink yarn wreath is the perfect project for Valentine's Day!
This wreath was a great joint project by both of us!
Mom (Twyla) started by wrapping the styrofoam wreath with pink yarn and handed it to me to add the embellishments.

Pink velvet leaves and paper roses added a great vintage feel to our wreath.

I knew when I spotted the pink felt roses at Hobby Lobby,
that they would be perfect for the wreath.
When I started decorating,
I started with the roses and matched the other embellishments to those.

Our wreath is now available here in our etsy shop.

Another sweet vintage Valentine for you today!
I love the music notes on this card!

Valentine Vignette

Hello sweet ladies!
What's not to love about Valentine's Day?
A holiday that celebrates love.
What could be better than that!

We've put together a vignette to acknowledge the day.

It is also a cute holiday!

A day to let other's know that you love them.
Shouldn't every day be Valentine's Day?

  Let's not forget the candy!
Love and candy.  Cards and kindness.
Kisses, hugs and sweetness.

We are enjoying our Valentine preparations and hope
that you are also!

Love and Hugs,

Valentine Tag Tutorial

Hello friends!
Today we are sharing a super easy tag tutorial
using this pretty vintage valentine!

Start with a manila tag or cut out tag shape from cardstock.

Print and cut valentine.

Using my favorite new Martha Stewart punch,
I punched the top and bottom of a strip of yellow polka dot paper
from the Modern Homemaker line by October Afternoon to fit the tag.

I then inked the tag using Fired Brick Distress Ink.
I use the wood blending tool that has a foam pad
to blend the ink into the paper to achieve a soft even color across the tag.

One of my favorite products right now are these little paper doilies by Martha Stewart.
You can find them at Michaels.

I glued the doily behind the heart on the valentine image.
I also stamped small swirls on the top edges of the tag using the Fired Brick Distress Ink.

I adhered the image to the tag using foam pop dots to make it more dimensional.
Then I took a Signo White Gel pen and added small stitch marks around the image.

To finish off the tag,
I took a red glitter pen and added glitter around the edges of the valentine and at the top of the tag.

I hope you enjoyed this tag tutorial today!
If you like this tag, it is now listed  here in our etsy shop!

Have a lovely day, Lindsey

My Creative Space

Hello friends!
Welcome to another Creative Space Friday!
I have been working on creating this Valentine mini book all week!

I created this scrapbook using the Cinch book binder. It measurees 8 1/2 x 7.
The cute paper is called, Love Bandit by Bo Bunny.

This book is filled with pockets and layered designs.
 Lots of hand cut embellishments!

Using a Signo white gel pen, I created faux stitching detail on every page.

This book has 10 pages including the covers.

This cute pink owl was cut off my Cricut machine.

The back cover.
This scrapbook is listed here on etsy!

After I finished my book, I started creating a tag.
I was inspired by the snow outside and my snowman valentine.
I will share it here, when it's done!

Wishing you all a lovely day, Lindsey
