Happy Halloween!

Hello friends!

I want to share with you today this Halloween paper bag album I created with Cosmo Cricket's Matilda Halloween paper line.

This album was so much fun to make! It's the bulkiest book I've ever made.

The ribbon is also by Cosmo Cricket.

I love creating for Halloween because you can do fun and unusual combinations like a clock face on a flower!

I love the little envelope I used on this page. It is by Maya Road and they come in sets with different shapes and sizes.

I added black crepe paper and glitter to this page.

I love this paper! The striped witches legs are too funny!

Every time I started a page, I first distresed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The cute vintage images used throughout this book are by Crafty Secrets.

I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at my book! I hope you try one too!

Happy Halloween, Lindsey

Halloween Treat Box

Hello friends!
Last weekend, I taught ladies at a scrapbooking retreat, how to make these super cute treat boxes!

Here is the link to a wonderful video tutorial by Cosmo Cricket sharing the instructions for making these cute boxes!

I also want to show you whats on my scrap table today!
The cute Schoolhouse line by October Afternoon! I got to play with this paper when I Guest Designed for the company but I didn't get all the paper patterns or any of the cute embellishments!
Now I'm really going to have fun!

Barbie Wednesday

Hello friends!
Today I thought I would show you a few of my favorite Halloween Barbies throughout the years!

In 1963, Mattel released, 'Masqurade' #944. A cute yellow and black costume for Barbie. Mattel also created a matching version for Skipper and a coordinating costume for Ken.

I love these Pirate costumes for Barbie and Ken from 1998.

This Barbie and Kelly set from 1996 is so sweet!

This Boo-tiful Barbie came out in 2004 and I added her to my collection.

Barbie costumes have become popular in the last few years with the option to be, 'Solo in the Spotlight barbie', '60's Barbie' or 'Prom Date Ken'.

Wishing you a day of fun, Lindsey

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose
ourselves at the same time." - Thomas Merton

Isn't that a great quote?!  I think most of us can identify with it.
Although, I don't quite feel comfortable calling what I do 'art'.  It's just
my simple crochet.  I am working on an all white afghan for an acquaintance.
It will be a surprise to her.  That's how I enjoy my crafting most, sharing it
with others.

Isn't that a beautiful crochet hook?  I purchased it from an artisan booth
at Silver Dollar City this month, but they have an online shop called Dewberry Ridge.
If you are interested in any of their gorgeous hand turned wood crochet hooks or knitting
needles, you can find them here.

This yarn I picked up at Michael's yesterday with my coupon, of course.
The colors couldn't be more perfect.
To me, creating is something that is as much a part of my day as eating.
When I sit down, I pick up something to knit or crochet.  I usually have several projects
going at once.  I'm like that.
I like to make up flower patterns for Lindsey to use in her scrapbooking.
She likes that!

When we discovered blogs, we couldn't wait each day to read our favorite ones.
We tentatively decided to try blogging ourselves, not sure if we could be
interesting or inspiring.  It was a slow start.
The thought of getting to know some of these amazing women was just a dream.
I can say now that I have friends all over the world and cherish this
blogging community.  So many of you are part of my everyday thoughts and I feel
like I know you!

If you were with me last summer you may remember my 'virtual' walk to Deb's house.
One day while I was out walking, I had the idea that if I had an imaginary destination,
it would be more fun to walk.

I figured out the mileage from my house to hers, which was over 600 miles,
and started my journey.  It has taken me a long time with many days not getting
very far and some days not at all, but I finally made it!
Look at the beautiful guest room that Deb had ready for me!
If I'd known how lovely it was, I would have walked faster!

Well, my friends, thank you so much for visiting with me today.
I wish you all much happiness!

The Vintage Girl

Hello friends!
I want to share with you another of the projects I did as guest designer for October Afternoon.
This is a lovely vintage bed tray. I found it at an antique store and knew it would be fun to alter!

I used a mixture of OA's Modern Homemaker line and their Fly a Kite line. Of course the pink crochet flower was made by my Mom!

As many of you know, I work for a scrapbook store. I teach classes, design  kits and create store samples. I am also very well known as "the vintage girl".  Hehe!  Everyone knows what I like best!
My Boss brought to my attention the other day that one of my favorite companies is coming out with a new line that is so me!!! I knew that you all would love it too, and I want you guys to see it!
It's called, Circa 1934 by Cosmo Cricket.

I must say I am over the moon excited to get my hands on this line!! I can't wait to play!

It's so beautiful! You can visit Cosmo Cricket's blog to see more photos of this lovely new line!

I wish you all a fun weekend! I am headed off to work at a scrapbooking retreat all weekend. I will be teaching classes and make-n-takes and hopefully manage to get in some last minute spooky crafting before Halloween!

Happy craftying, Lindsey

Barbie Wednesday

Hello friends!
I received the Holiday Barbie catalog in the mail this week! They are always fun to look through and this new Bob Mackie Circus Barbie on the cover is so lovely!

As I was looking through it, I realized that I hadn't looked at the new 2010 Hallmark Barbie ornaments yet! Always one of my most favorite things to do!
I love this ornament of a Ponytail Barbie in the Friday Night Date outfit from Hallmark's Nostalgic collection.

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the Superstar Ken ornament!

This lovely ornament is from the Fashion Model collection of Barbies. She is called, Movie Madness.

This ornament matches the Holiday Barbie this year.

I have been collecting the Barbie Shoe Tree ornaments for a few years now and here is the newest one!

If you would like to get the Barbie catalogs, visit barbiecollector.com to sign up.

Wishing you fun and happiness, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello my dear friends!
I didn't want the month of October to get away before
I mentioned something I feel is very important.

I am sharing some pretty 'pink' images with you while I encourage you
all to be sure and have your mammograms and be conscious of breast health.

I have lost an aunt to the disease and went through it with my best friend who
is a survivor.  I've also had two cousins who have survived and have another who
is currently undergoing chemo.  You all mean so much to me that I want you to
be sure and stay on top of this because early detection is so vital.

I was so very lucky to have won Donna, of Brynwood Needleworks, giveaway!
She was giving away two lap quilts and I was one of the lucky winners.
This is the way I received it, so thoughtfully packaged.
Donna loves acorns so she tied a sweet little acorn to the ribbon.

Isn't it beautiful?!  It is big enough for a twin bed and I absolutely adore the
vintage nine patch pattern and cheery fabric.
Donna is an amazing artist.  I am always impressed with her creations
and if you haven't visited her, take some time today to say hello.
She posts every day and shares so much of her creative life with everyone.

Besides being a crafter and antique fanatic, not to mention blogaholic, I am also
Mom to three dogs.  Part of each day is spent caring for these little guys needs.
Believe me, they bring me so much joy and love I don't mind anything I have to do for
them.  Today we went outside for a 'usual' break.  I took my camera along to catch some
memories.  Something caught their eyes on the other side of the fence.

See what had their attention?  The neighbor dog is a buddy of theirs but
I don't know where the kitty came from.

We had so much fun over the weekend participating in Vanessa's Halloween Party.
We always enjoy creating these events.  Thank you for letting us get our spook on
and create something spooky and creepy for a change.  Thank you for all your fun
and kind comments on the post!  We enjoy your thoughts so much!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me today!
Wishing you much happiness!
