Lindsey and I had such a delightful time this weekend participating in the Mad Hatter Tea Party. I am speechless that we got 100 + comments! I never, in my wildest dreams, thought we would be visited by so many thoughful people. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It meant so much to me. If you haven't seen the post, it is the one below. We enjoyed making it a fun event.

My son and I had a chance to do some antique shopping this weekend. He found this little pink kitten salt or pepper shaker. Since it no longer has it's mate, it was only $1.

If you read my posts, you know I collect these motto prints. He bought me this one as an early birthday present. It is absolutely one of the most gorgeous ones in my collection.

Lindsey and I have so much fun going to the craft stores. We are blessed to have a Michael's, Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's in our town. Yesterday we went to Michael's and they had their rubber stamps on sale. Of course, I had to have the mushroom stamp and I thought the little bird stamp was just too pretty.

Is there such a thing as blue cherries? Well, in my world there are. I found this gorgeous blue yarn at Michael's and couldn't resist making blue cherries. What do you think?

Lindsey and I adore vintage post cards and some flea markets have so many they provide chairs for you to sit and go through them. We can spend Lots of time going doing this. This is one I chose just because the art work is so amazing. It is dated 1909. It was to Lulu, from Mabel. I love the sentiment on this card, it is very humbling.

No, it's not Christmas in June, but I love finding cards with these pointed roofed houses! This one is so charming with it's colorful artwork that I didn't even mind that it was a little imperfect.
This one just made me happy!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. It is my favorite time of year. There is a carefree attitude about summer with a hint of magic. I think it goes back to my childhood why I feel this way.

Have a wonderful week and remember to have some fun! Twyla

Mad Hatter's Tea Party!

Welcome to the Mad Hatter's Tea Party!

come on in and make yourself at home!

I have an invitation for you.

Are you ready to enter a Wonderland party?

Just follow me, it's down here.

Down the rabbit hole.

div>
Are you thirsty? Would you like some tea?

Alice is already here! Would you like to come and meet her?
Don't be shy.

She is sipping on her tea while waiting for the White Rabbit to join her.
He's always running late, you know.

Aren't Alice's stockings adorable? I've asked where she got them but she says her Mother made them for her.

Can I offer you a yummy cookie?

They may make you grow!

The Mad Hatter seems to be running late today too!
Doesn't he know he has an unbirthday party to celebrate?!

Would you like another drink?

I'm afraid this beverage might make you feel kind of small.

Poor White Rabbit.

He came by earlier but when he left he forgot his pocket watch!

I believe he was already late for a very important date. He kept mumbling something about a walrus and a carpenter.

A very unusual caterpillar came by and gave us a few mushrooms to enjoy for the party!

Would you like one?

What beautiful mushrooms they are! What, you're full? Already!

Well at least finish your tea before you go!

I hope you had fun at our party! Don't fret,

I'm sure you will happen upon the White Rabbit sometime today!

Please go visit A Fanciful Twist to see the other party participants and then you will be sure to see the Rabbit!

Have a great weekend, Lindsey and Twyla

This Saturday we are participating in Vanessa's Mad Tea Party. We joined her last year in the First Mad Tea Party and had so much fun! We were up late into the wee hours visiting everyone's party!

This year's party is sure to be just as whimsical and magical as the last. Join us and see what Alice is up to.

Here is a link to last year's post for the party!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Twyla

I had quite a lucky find last week! I found this really cool Barbie sign at a flea market!

It says in the corner that it was made for Wal Mart stores. I love having this to remember her 50th birthday! Of course I love that she's eating a cupcake too!!!

In the same booth I also found this beautiful Barbie! She's called Parisian Barbie. She came out in 1990. I think she is one of the prettiest Barbies I have in my collection now.

I love her face. Her mole right below her eye is such a cute touch and her cameo necklace is too cute!!!!!

The booth where I found these at, had several shelves filled with beautiful Barbies from the eighties and nineties. I hope I can buy more from her booth to add to my collection.

This illustration was on the side of the box.

Wishing you fun, Lindsey

The little post that almost wasn't. Sunday morning our computer died. I was terrified of being seperated from all my friends and favorite blogs. A terrible feeling. It was an agonizing day of trying to get it to work. Nothing to look forward to Monday morning when I awoke. It is my custom to turn on the computer first thing in the morning and enjoy visiting some of my favorite people.

My husband, after working all night, stopped on his way home from work and bought a refurbished tower, after Lindsey hooked it up and some time spent on the phone with tech support, we are now connected with the world again. It is a desolute feeling not being able to reach out to you all.

Before I knew about blogs, I used to enjoy looking at other women's creative work on ebay. It was the only way I knew how. One of my favorite searches was paper piecing. The one name that I revered above all others was a talented artist named Queen of Nostalgia. After I discovered the blog world, I was thrilled to death to learn that she had a blog!

I was the very fortunate winner of a give away that she had last week. Aren't these little houses and a tree she made beautiful?!

I am so proud of them. She has an etsy shop where she sells her awesome paper pieced items for scrapbooking.

Thank you Queen of Nostalgia!

I don't mind telling you that this little dog has me wrapped around his little paw.

He is precious in every way.

As the heat of the summer has hit with a vengence, I am not inclined to go outside and walk! Yes, for all my Big talk, I am still a wienie. I have come up with a plan, a path around my house that is very comfortable and at the same time I am getting in just as much walking, if not more, than I did outside! Our floor plan allows for an easy route around the living room, through the kitchen, into the family room and out through the sunroom, bringing me back to the living room. I have walked 91 miles now. I hope Deb is planning the menu for when I arrive!

I am wishing you all a beautiful week! Twyla

Last weekend's Finds

Hello Ladies!
We hope that you are enjoying your weekend! We had lots of fun last weekend and we wanted to show you our flea market finds!

I was beyond excited when I came across this collection of vintage Valentines! I couldn't get all of them because there were so many but I have plans to go back and buy them all!!

I have been in a cherry mood lately with my scrapbook pages and my Mom's crochet cherries so I was very happy to find this blue apron covered in flocked cherries!

My sweet Brother gave me this cute bunny to add to my vintage plastic toy collection. I mostly just collect the dogs but the bunny is so adorable too!

We have been slowly building a collection of linens and this cute one had to come home with us! I love the Scottie dog on the pitcher and cup.

Every now and then I run onto old gift seals. Mostly when I find them they are Christmas seals so I was happy to find these lovely flower ones. And of course vintage hankies are always a fun thing to collect!

It is so extremely rare that I see an apron pattern I could not believe my luck when the other day I found this pattern. It was the same flea market that I found my vintage Barbie box in. So I was on cloud nine by the time I walked out of the store. I had a vintage waste can that I found filled with this pattern, the vintage seals, a Gurley candle, and the Barbie box.

Here is the waste can I found to carry my happy finds home in!

Have a grand weekend, Lindsey and Twyla
